Method
- 1
Slice the tomato into thin rounds and the onion into thin rings. Arrange them on a plate, sprinkle with a pinch of salt and chaat masala, and set aside.
- 2
Heat a tawa or non-stick pan on medium flame. Add butter and a few drops of oil to prevent burning.
- 3
Once the butter melts and starts to foam, crack both eggs directly onto the pan. Season the tops with salt, black pepper, and a tiny pinch of red chilli powder.
- 4
Cook the eggs sunny-side up for about 2–3 minutes until the whites are fully set but the yolks are still runny, or flip and cook for 30 more seconds if you prefer them fully done.
- 5
While the eggs are cooking, toast the bread slices directly on the flame or in a toaster until golden and crisp on both sides.
- 6
Place the toasted bread on the plate, slide the fried eggs on top, and serve immediately alongside the seasoned tomato and onion slices.
