Banana Oat Porridge with Honey and Walnuts

Creamy rolled oats cooked with milk, topped with sliced banana, a drizzle of honey, and crushed walnuts.

  • 0.5 cuprolled oats
  • 1 cupwhole milk
  • 1 piecebanana
  • 1 tbsphoney
  • 2 tbspwalnuts
  • 1 pinchsalt

Method

    Pour the milk into a small saucepan and bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent scorching.

    Add the rolled oats and a pinch of salt, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the oats have absorbed most of the milk and the porridge is thick and creamy.

    While the porridge cooks, peel and slice the banana into rounds, and roughly crush the walnuts with the back of a spoon or in your hands.

    Spoon the porridge into a bowl, arrange the banana slices on top, scatter over the crushed walnuts, and finish with a drizzle of honey. Serve immediately.
