  • 1 cupLeftover kwati dal (mixed sprouted bean dal)
  • 0.75 cupLeftover cooked rice

Method

    Take the leftover kwati dal and cooked rice out of the fridge — both should be from the previous day's meal, already fully cooked and seasoned.

    Portion the rice into one section of the tiffin box and spoon the kwati dal into the adjoining section or a small leak-proof container.

    Wash and peel the carrot, then cut it into thin sticks about 7–8 cm long and tuck them into the remaining section of the tiffin box.

    Seal the tiffin box securely and pack it into the school bag — no reheating needed as kwati dal and rice are safe and tasty at room temperature within a few hours.
